What Changed Since July 2026
Until this summer, a company established outside France could file its sales directly with its eco-organization. That’s no longer possible: the French law of July 10, 2026, followed by the European PPWR regulation of August 18, 2026, now require going through a representative established in France. Your existing registration with your current eco-organization is no longer enough, on its own, to cover this obligation.
In case of non-compliance, the PPWR regulation provides for penalties of up to €7,500 per sale, plus €20,000 per day until the situation is resolved.

Since July 10, 2026 in France and August 18, 2026 at the European level (PPWR), a company established outside France must be represented by an agent established in France. Your registration with your eco-organization remains valid, but it must now be carried by a representative established in France. That’s exactly the role of Ekovio’s Authorized Representative.
Do I keep my current identifier and eco-organization?
Yes. You keep the same contract with your eco-organization(s) if you’re already registered for one or more schemes. Ekovio takes care of everything.
